New Business
Larry A just got back from The USSVI Western Region Roundup located in Reno NV, made comments concerning the newly formed USSVI Charitable Foundation, which is consolidation of the former individual fund groups. This foundation is headed up by Ken E – Treasurer and incorporates the following segments; General Fund, Scholarship Fund, Brotherhood Fund, Museum Boat Fund, Monument Fund, Kap(s) 4 Kids Fund, Library Fund, and Building Fund. The request was that many members of our organization making a smaller donation are preferable to a few members making larger gifts. With the consensus of the Executive Officers a system of collecting donations will be set up. And on a semi-annual basis sending the funds to USSV Charitable foundation, with a letter naming the specific donor, the amount donated, and their respective addresses. In turn, the foundation will sent out a letter of Thanks to each of the donors, which can be used for IRS tax contributions purposes. At this time we have already four (4) members donating. More to come later on this issue.
It was noted that the city of Bremerton is having a parade on Saturday May 21, 2022 and all members are invited. Was advised that MC-SS group will be attending.
There are still openings in our organization for a Secretary and a Chaplin.
