In Memoriam - Connie Abramson

It is with deep sadness that we pass along this information from Pat Householder.
Connie and Doug at the 2012 Holiday Luncheon
On August 8, in the presence of Doug and her extended family, Connie Abramson drew her last breath and her soul became one with the angels.

I knew both Doug and Connie for a very long time, ever since Doug and I served together aboard USS Redfish in the mid-60s. A sweet and kind person, Connie always was a loving and caring soul. When our base started doing the Tolling Ceremony, Connie and Doug created a wreath which we use to this day.

Now our shipmate Doug is alone with so many mixed emotions, happy that she no longer is suffering, and desolate from his personal loss of his loving life companion. He is such a good man and it is so sad that he must endure such a loss.

A private family service is being held on August 17, and a public celebration of life will follow several weeks later. We will let you know more information about the public service as it becomes available.

If you would like to expression your sympathy and support for Doug, you can find his address on the USSVI website or contact Base Editor Dave Schueler for the address.
